SIMWinXP is a separate software product which integrates schematic capture and
simulation features derived from EDWinXP into a single, stand-alone application.
Project databases are freely transferable between both packages and design of circuits
initially captured in SIMWinXP may be continued in EDWinXP.
SIMWinXP users may choose between two simulation engines – indigenous Mixed Mode
Simulator developed by Visionics or EDSpice – specially adapted and
seamlessly incorporated SPICE3F5 simulator. Both simulators support analysis of hierarchical circuits.
Simulation engines analyze circuits designed graphically with help of sophisticated
Schematic Diagram Editor. The package contains
extensive library of symbols and simulation models for digital and
analog circuit elements. Element Browser, which is attached to
diagram editor, facilitates instantaneous access to elements in the library.
Simulation results are presented in the form of waveforms, which are recorded in
Waveform Viewer. The progress of simulation
(transient analysis) may be monitored through inbuilt 4/8-channel
Oscilloscope or 32-bit Logic
Analyzer.
SIMWinXP includes Library Editor allowing to add new circuit elements
to the library and assign to them user defined simulation models,
generated with help of VHDL Editor/Compiler.
Circuits edited in SIMWinXP may be exported in various formats (EDIF 2.0 Netlist,
Xilinx EDIF, Altera EDIF, JEDEC, CUPL). The package can also import device definitions
in Altera EDIF format and convert them into circuits or simulation models.
Currently available version is SIMWinXP 1.10. |
