The EE Designer, followed by the EE Designer II and finally the EE Designer III were our first major "hits" in the EDA CAD industry, all of them winning international acclaim, not least in the USA, where many major high-tech companies use the EE Designer III today. Unfortunately, the EE Designer III has been subject to major Software Piracy and counterfeiting in Germany and in the USA over the last few years. The EE Designer III is available in three commercial versions, EE Designer III/The Designer, EE Designer III/The Engineer, and the top-level EE Designer III/The Professional.

All commercial versions contain all the basic utilities needed to create a PCB (schematics, layout and post processing) and come with full sets of components and device libraries as well as autorouting capabilities. This is also a pretty good description of what EE Designer III/The Designer contains. Apart from these functions, EE Designer III/The Engineer adds simulation capabilities, and EE Designer III/The Professional adds further functions, eg thermal analysis and autoplacing, to make your work even easier and smoother.

Visionics has also developed a special version of the EE Designer III, which we have named the EE Designer III/Basic, for those who would like to have an EDA system but can’t afford a full fledged commercial system today. The EE Designer III/Basic was previously available completely free of charge, with no obligations to buy other products, via anonymous ftp over the Internet only. Unfortunately, some parties couldn´t even get such an offer without abusing the rules, why we decided to stop this offer by November 18, 1996. Say thanks to your fellow pirates.
