EDWinXP, a product from Visionics is an industrial ECAD/ECAM software package, which provides an engineer with computerized tools to design PCBs, simulate electronic circuits using SPICE, 8051, AVR and VHDL.

The latest version of EDWinXP can be downloaded from our website http://www.visionics.a.se/html/edwindemoform.html. This is an evaluation version of EDWinXP. For downloading, please fill up the form given there and submit it. The downloaded file will be in compressed zip format.
The evaluation version is a fully functional version of EDWinXP working for a period of 14 days. After the evaluation period, the program requires activation. To extend the evaluation period /activate the installation, kindly send the Product ID to our technical support. Please refer the following sections to get more details about Installation and Product Activation.

• Unzip the contents of the zip file to a temporary folder for eg: c:/temp.
  Note: It is important that the name of the folder should NOT be in long filename format. Folder names with spaces in between or number of characters more than 8 is NOT acceptable.
• If the installation zip file is located at a Server or a shared folder in the network, unzip the contents of the zip file to a temporary folder for eg: c:/temp.
• Install EDWinXP by clicking the file Setup.exe, from the extracted file.

• Select ‘Activate EDWinXP’ from Help menu in the Project Explorer.
• Product may be activated using either Licence Disk or Activation Code.
• If activating through Licence Disk, provide the path of Licence diskette and click OK button.
• To get the licence for the product purchased through PayPal, please send the product ID to visionics@bredband.net after copying using Copy ID button.
• To get the licence for the product purchased through Eazy2Pay, enter your OrderID and ProductID in the page www.visionics.a.se/activate.html and proceed further steps described there.
• To obtain activation code from the distributor, please send them ProductID.

If you are working with an older version of EDWinXP, you can install the latest version in the same computer. Before proceeding with the new installation take the back-up of files created in folders like JOB, LIB etc in EDWinXP installation directory in your computer. Follow the given steps to continue with the un-installation of the existing version of EDWinXP and to take the backup of the licence of the installation for future re-installation of the same version.

• Insert a freshly formatted floppy disk/USB Flash drive to the computer to save the backup of licence file for future use.
• Select Start Programs EDWinXP EDWinXP Un-installer and click on Un-Install button.
• Select Yes , to un-install the application and all of its components from the computer and save the licence file.
• Set the location of the floppy drive/ USB Flash drive on the window showing and click OKto save the licence file.
• Now the user can install the latest version in the same machine.

Re-installing the older version-
Un-install the evaluation version and install the older version of EDWinXP. After completing the installation use the Licence disk, which has the retrieved licence file created by using the steps in the above section.
